Staff Backend Engineer

We’re looking to hire a fully remote Staff Backend Engineer to join our Singapore team at Unit 21 We're looking for an experienced engineer with enterprise experience and a willingness to provide mentorship and technical leadership. This team works primarily on our Case Management system and the work they do is integral to the jobs of hundreds of Financial Institution’s agents every single day.

Unit21 engineers and especially our Singapore team operate with high levels of autonomy and are expected to execute scoped work to materialize product vision. We deal with massive amounts of customer data to enable investigations in our case management product. Performance and optimization of queries in this system are paramount. Ideal candidates will have experience in optimizing for performance while also having a deep empathy for customers and user experience.Unit21 is a fast growing start up but well on our way to becoming an established industry leader in the Fraud and anti-money laundering space. While experience in this industry is not necessary, work experience in an enterprise company with a mature engineering org is a bonus as we hope to grow our engineering core in Singapore. This role will serve as the primary tech lead for the Singapore team.
