Senior Software Architect

We are seeking a Senior Engineer/Architect to leverage some of the most valuable, intriguing, and underutilized data available — global trade flows that influence markets and policies in real-time. Our datasets capture the dynamics of international commerce and geopolitics, from Russian sanctions and AI microchips to fentanyl precursors and the fluctuating landscape of tariffs and trade disputes. With global commerce and politics more interconnected than ever, we need a visionary technical leader to help us unlock the potential of this data at scale and speed. In this role, you will serve as the primary architect for our ASEAN development, leading our international teams to foster an engineering culture that brings innovative ideas to life, enabling faster and smarter insights into the global supply chain.



Responsibilities

Design, communicate, and continuously improve our software architecture.
Collaborate with team members to define functional and non-functional software/application requirements.
Influence all aspects of development, including technology choices, workflows, and coding standards.
Clearly convey concepts and guidelines to the development team.
Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to the initial design.
Offer technical guidance and mentorship to developers.
Ensure that projects meet quality standards, including security, modifiability, and extensibility.
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and propose solutions to resolve them.
Enhance the company’s code quality and automation processes.
Travel to Manila for semi-monthly in-person sessions with core technology teams.



Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in Software Architecture and Design, specializing in Cloud Native Infrastructure. A total of 10+ years in software development.
In-depth knowledge of software architecture principles, design patterns (e.g., microservices, event-driven architecture), and industry best practices.
Experience with modern data platform technologies.
Proficiency in JavaScript, NodeJS, Vue, and NuxtJs.
Experience working with large-scale data.
Experience designing software systems for high availability.
Expertise in optimization techniques.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Excellent written and spoken English.
AWS certifications.
Familiarity with global shipping and logistics.
